VENUE
Bournemouth Folk Club has been located at Centre Stage since September 2005. Centre Stage is the large function room of the Pig and Whistle, a fairly small pub. It has a separate entrance adjacent to the pub. The venue is spacious and comfortable with seated capacity for 160 at tables and a bar. The stage is wide and low (21 inches). There is in-house PA.
Centre Stage is well-located in an attractive part of Bournemouth between the town centre and Westbourne. Westbourne is an attractive and stylish urban village with fashionable shops and restaurants.
Within close walking distance of Centre Stage are a selection of hotels including the Premier Inn (Poole Road).
Food is NOT SERVED at the present time in the Pig and Whistle or Centre Stage. However as everyone sits at tables for our gigs, the venue management have no objection to you bringing food in from neighbouring takeaways. Next door on Queens Road is a Nepalese restaurant, the Himalaya -(fantastic!) , and takeaways for Chinese (don't know) and pizza (very good apparently) .
