URBAN FOLK QUARTET
Sat 27 April, Shelley Theatre.
The band consisting of Joe Broughton (fiddle/mandolin/guitar), Paloma Trigas (fiddle/vocals), Tom Chapman (percussion/vocals) and Dan Walsh (banjo/guitar/vocals) has performed across the world at everything from secluded coves to 30,000 capacity festival fields since it's inception in 2009. This year we have completed a very successful UK tour and a trip to France and we have an autumn UK tour and a trip to Denmark still to come before the end of the year.
We also recently appeared on the Mark Radcliffe Show on BBC Radio 2 for a live session and our album 'The Escape' has had excellent reviews:
"The Escape is spot on." 4 stars R2 (Rock'n'Reel) Magazine
"Exciting, invigorating… The level of the musicianship from the entire quartet is remarkable… at moments showing their capacity to be as serene and charming as they are energetic."
4 stars Songlines
"...creativity blooms across the whole album. Heroically diverse, no-one puts more sunshine and fizz into acoustic cavaliering. Addictive, yes, but unlike other substances, a fix of UFQ is positively health-giving."
